Wildlife Sightings Report - May 2020
Our nights are starting to get colder and we are having nice dark clear skies with the winter constellation.
In May, the pan at Verney’s Camp was a favourite hang-out for thirsty herds of elephants and the air carries the sweet scent of African bush, mud and water. Quite a few giraffes, zebra and kudus have also been spending time at the pan.
A new male lion made an appearance and got very friendly with one of Verney’s lionesses. The two made a lot of noise which echoed around the camp much to the delight of the hyena that could be heard giggling up a storm. Porcupines and honey badgers have also been visiting the camp at night leaving little footprints everywhere.
Until next month from all of us at Verney’s Camp, keep warm and stay safe!
