Wildlife Sightings May 2020
Winter has crept up on us without warning here at both our Machaba camps and, truth be told, we are using hot water bottles to heat our beds at night. Sitting around an African bush fire is an obvious must at this time of the year!
Our lions have continued to roar in-and-around the camp this entire month. However, although the Leopards have been a little scarce, we have been lucky enough to spot a few. One male gave us an entire afternoon of territorial calling as he jumped the Khwai River and marked his territory. An afternoon well spent!
Other notable sightings in May were hyenas, a pack of eight wild dogs and plenty of Cape buffalo.
Until next month, keep safe!
