January Sightings 2020
What an amazing start to the New Year! ‘Day 1’ was marked by a heavy rainstorm, which is much appreciated here at Machaba Camp.
Sighting-wise, Khwai has not disappointed and we saw loads of lions this month doing everything from parenting, crossing rivers, playing, mating, sleeping and feasting.
Wild dogs have been seen regularly and our guests have enjoyed the thrill of watching many of their hunts.
Our plains game sightings have been great! Baby impalas remain as cute-as-ever, the mighty elephants are still hanging around and the hippos are enjoying the grey skies and are frequently seeing grazing out of the water during the day.
Last but not least, our leopards. These cats are seen jumping the river, eating impala, and resting on tree branches looking very pleased with themselves.
What an amazing month it has been, thank you Africa!
