Affectionately known as Mr. P, Phepele has joined the Machaba Family and brings a wealth of life experience and cultural insights to the Machaba teams.
His journey in the world of food is marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence, a dedication to training and mentoring, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
Fostering a Passion
Having gained experience in various settings, from luxury lodges to high-profile international restaurants, Mr. P demonstrates his adaptability and commitment to perfection in gastronomy.
His diverse language proficiency in English, Afrikaans, Sotho, Venda, Zulu and Tswana as well as a little bit of Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian reflects his ability to connect with a broad spectrum of individuals. His undeniable passion for imparting knowledge is evidenced by his previous roles involving the training of chefs, butlers, and managers. His dedication to keeping chefs updated on current food trends, especially showcasing Botswana’s cuisine and exploring a farm-to-fork culinary innovation is what we are looking to transform in our safari food offering.
Driven by a desire for new challenges, Phepele is spending his time between Maun and our camps in Botswana, seeking to set new menus, upskill all our chefs and showcase Botswana on the plate for our guests.
